Following excavations of the previous buildings for the farm a test pit has been undertaken against an original gable end. The barn was cut into the shale subsurface and no features or only C18 pottery discovered. One piece of Chinese style patterned cup fragment which had decoration on both the inside and outside which is being researched to date when the flagstones may have been positioned above the context.
